Access to Work Mental Health Support Service

The Access to Work Mental Health Support Service is delivered by Remploy and supports individuals to sustain employment for a period of 6 months at a time. The service is funded through the DWP and is at no cost to employers. Click below to download the employer leaflet and/or visit the website.

Please note: This service offers light touch case management support, and is limited to 3 visits per 6 month support period. The support is also aimed at the individual, and therefore management would only be  involved with the employees consent. For more complex cases or full vocational assessments, Illuminate are able to assist your organisation.

Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)

Each region across England has an IAPT service providing support for mental health conditions e.g. therapy, counselling, and support groups. Individuals can learn more about their area on the IAPT website. Please bear in mind some regions require a referral from a GP/medical professional.

NHS Choices has a wide variety of resources including online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and online forums for support.

Mind: The Mental Health Charity

Mind is the UK’s leading mental health charity promoting better awareness and reducing stigma surrounding mental health. They provide access to resources, advice, telephone support and support groups.

NICE Guidelines - Mental Wellbeing at Work

NICE have published guidelines on ways of promoting mental wellbeing in the workplace. This involves ensuring managers are trained on how to effectively support their staff and are proactive in their approach. It also encourages employers to consider reasonable adjustments and flexible approaches to working to support individuals with a mental health condition. These recommendations are covered in the training offered by Illuminate.
